Trying to connect the dots on a Julia Hudson born sometime around 1851, death recorded in Panola County, Mississippi in 1912. She married Charlie Augustus Williams and had two sons, Charlie Benjamin Williams who is my grandfather and Augustus Williams born 1864. It appears from another tombstone in the cemetery that Alfred Hudson born 1825, death recorded April 6, 1862 (killed at Shiloh)may have been her father. Any information that you folks could help us out with would be sooo appreciated.

My mother just found some old copies of the Hudsoniana. My grandfather, James A Hudson, was the president in '83-'84. Honestly I had no idea this existed. Since I've been in the Air Force, I've been very interested in the Hudson family history. When I return to South Carolina, I have every intent of joining the HFA. Thank you for keeping it going...

Researching ancestors and descendants of Joseph Hudson of East Pennsborough Twp., Cumberland Co., PA listed in the tax records of 1778 & 1780. He may be the Joseph Hudson listed in 1790 in Northumberland Co., PA with 10 individuals, along with a Joseph Evans. He is listed in the 1800 Census in Butler Co. and in 1820 he is in Allegheny Co., PA. He is listed with a Henry and an Isaac Evans in Connoquenessing Twp., Butler Co., PA in an 1803 Tax List. He is believed to have died in Butler Co., PA ca 1826. Are these Hudsons and Evanes related to the Welsh Tract group Thomas Evans and the Henry Hudson's of MD? Any information or direction appreciated.

Anyway, after I found my grand grandfather Issac Hudson and his muster papers from the Civil War (He served in Col L of the First Arkansas Cavalry as a trumpeter/bugler) I was hooked. I can't get past John B. Hudson born 1770 in North Carolina, but having a great time.

My great, great grandmother on my mother's side was Eleanor Miller. She had an older sister named Edith Miller, born 1833 who married Richard L. Hudson and apparently traveled west and settled in Snohomish, WA.

Oddly enough, I traveled west in 2003 and also settled in Snohomish.

As a curiosity factor I would be interested if there are any Hudsons left in the Snohomish area today.

Thank you,

He was a surgeon on the USS Ingraham in WWII, and he was a doctor in Jackson for years, he even has a medical library named after him at a hospital (J. Manning Hudson Health Science Library). Could you please direct me to some possible lines in the Hudson family. I am very new to genealogy and have only just begun my quest. I have several very good books outlining some of my heritage and have a page on ancestry.com that has been wonderful. I just found out about DNA testing and decided to see if the Hudson family had a project going on, that's how I found your page. I look forward to any information you might point me to.
Very Sincerely,

My fourth great grandfather was William Pleasant Hudson, born 11 November 1781 in Cecil Maryland and died 11 September 1855 in Bastrop County, Texas. He married Mary (Polly) Philips in July 1807 in Rowan North Carolina and sometime after that migrated to Franklin County Tennessee. I am descended through his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hudson, who married Dudley Williams McNatt.

I believe, but cannot confirm, that William Pleasant was the son of Sterling Hudson (1756 ? 1850) and Frances <>. Sterling was the son of Hall Hudson (1732 ? 1799) and Frances Hall.

I?ve run across records from the Welsh Neck Baptist Church, Marlboro South Carolina, (http://www.sciway3.net/proctor/marlboro/church/Welsh_Neck_Baptist2.html) indicating that an Obediah Hudson, Mary Hudson, Hall Hudson, and Eleanor Hudson were members there between 1775 and 1782. I cannot determine what relationship existed between these Hudsons, but Hall and Eleanor relocated to another Church in 1782 ? perhaps they were married. I?m very interested in these Hudsons because my McNatt ancestors were also members of the Welsh Neck Baptist Church.

If anybody has any information about these Hudson, I?d be much obliged.

Thanks!

I am proud our collective family is doing so well. It seems from the maps I see here that I am a representative of the most Western Branch of our family. My great, great grandfather Thomas Hudson was one of the original founders of the city of Hollywood, California and he built Hollywood Blvd. as a wagon road to his citrus farm. His home was on the one block of Hudson Avenue that has now been renamed Schrader Blvd. Why it was necessary to rename that one block he lived on I don't know. We trace our ancestry to my 4th great grandfather, John Hudson of Cincinnati, Ohio -father of Matthew Hudson whose child was Thomas who moved to Hollywood, California. He was married in Somerset County, Maryland in 1811 to Leah West, his second wife. We are working on linking him to a John Hudson who may have been his father, who fought in Virginia in the Revolutionary War as a young man and later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. If this rings a bell, please let us know!

If not also please advise as negative information may be just as valuable as positive. Thank you
